Not long ago I heard Diana Waring speak at an online conference. ( I think it was at The Back-To-School Blast.) I love hearing her speak! She is always such an encouragement to me.
When I heard her speak this time, it was not long before the idea for 31 Days of Parenting Teens came to me. I have been thinking about it ever since then.
Diana was talking to us about her relationship with her children now that they are grown. She has a wonderful, close friendship with her adult children. She wanted to encourage us to begin building our adult relationships with our children while they are still young.
Her wise advice is still resonating in my spirit. I don’t know if I got it word-for-word, but it’s close.
I have really been thinking through exactly what I would like my relationship with my children to be as adults. I had a picture of it in my mind, but I had never really worked out all the details. This vision that is formulating has definitely shaped some of my behaviors over the last month. I hope that I keep moving in the right direction.

Do you have a vision of the relationship you would like to have with your children once they are grown up?
{As you can tell, I fell behind on my 31 Days series. Drat those viruses. However, I will be finishing it out, so keep checking back over the next few days until I hit Day 31 and the big wrap-up.}
Come back for more on parenting teens tomorrow. Better yet, get it in your inbox so you won’t miss a day! I’d also like to invite you to join the conversation at The Daisyhead on Facebook. I’d love to meet you!
