I would so much like to thank my sponsors for helping me get to the Titus 2:1 Conference this year! (That's pronounced "2 to 1 Conference.") It was so worth the hard work and time it took to get there, but I could never have done it without my sponsors! Would you please go check them out? See the Light, Home Ec Online, T-Tapp, and Turning Heads Boutique…

It seems like an eternity ago, but I would love to share a couple of recent, big life events with you. Both of these events have had lots of impact on my life… and I'm still processing both of them.
Remember that bomb that dropped on our homeschool in April? It has really thrown us for a loop. My husband will no longer have his associate pastor position. It was decided that his primary role, facilitating a two-year ministry training program, will end at the end of May, and that there is no longer a fit for him at our church while they are searching for a new senior pastor. We were given this news right before leaving for the Titus 2:1 Conference. I think dealing with the news plus all of the issues surrounding telling the church body left me more emotionally exhausted than I thought. I couldn't write, yet there was so much that I wanted to share with you about the conference and my time there.
Just this week, I finally feel as if I can put two sentences together! So it's time.
The Titus 2:1 Conference…
My time at the conference this year can be summed up in a few words…
The joy of serving.
Hubby and I arrived a night early, so I helped some of the other ladies with packing the sponsor swag bags {which were amazing!} on Tursday night. Friday morning we had an amazing time decorating and preparing to welcome the other attendees to the conference.
I was asked to be a part of the Welcome Team. We met women arriving at the airport, escorted them to the correct shuttle, and accompanied them to the airport. The 2:1 ladies are amazingly thoughtful! Many ladies were expressing concern over traveling alone or with a baby and were feeling uncertain about navigating the airport in Washington, so Cheryl and Stef hatched the idea of the Welcome Team. I was thrilled to be asked to welcome ladies at the airport! And I enjoyed every minute of meeting and helping each of them get safely to the hotel!
Throughout the weekend, the Welcome Team was also asked to be mindful of anyone who needed help finding the correct meeting room, etc. It seemed that this mindfulness spilled over into my entire weekend at the conference. I had the joy of helping other women learn to navigate a Twitter party, figuring out how to organize and use labels in gmail, and all sorts of other blogging details.

Honestly, it was refreshing being able to help others from what I have learned over the last couple of years… and forget all about "the bomb" that had just gone off at home. For a few days, we were far removed from the angst over the details of what the loss of Hubby's job would mean for us in the coming months. We only had today… with these sweet blogging friends. We laughed. We made new friends, and I introduced Hubby to the sweet friends I made last year. There was fun to be had.
It was a sweet, sweet weekend.
Of course, the moment we landed on Indiana soil again, "the bomb" was the sole topic of conversation…
Don't miss the Facebook Party to celebrate Notebooking Pages' birthday! Tuesday, May 21 at 9pm EST on the iHomeschool Network Facebook page. See you there!

I had no idea! Wow, you were so helpful at 2:1, so friendly (and so was your hubby). I imagine life at ground-zero is mighty challenging. Will be praying for you, sweet sister, and I’m glad we had some time together in April. (PS – those two bloggers in that picture look kinda sketchy to me…..)
